Meet the Team

Head of Special Collections

Interviewer & Oral Historian

Sarah Langsdon

Hello all! I’m Sarah and my pronouns are she/her. I am an ally and mom to two queer children. We call ourselves the big gay family. I work at Weber State University documenting the history of Weber/Davis Counties and want to make sure that the queer community is part of that. One fun fact about me is that I did a study abroad in Moscow, Russia and oh boy, the stories I could tell.

Archive Processor & Oral Historian

Marina Kenner

Hello! I’m Marina (she/her). I work for Weber State University as an archival processor, and have been involved in collecting oral histories from the Ogden and Davis communities. I am so grateful to be involved in this project as it has helped me become a better ally and understand more about the LGBTQ+ community. A fun fact about me is that I prefer to write with a fountain pen.

Photographer & Interviewer

Faith Christiansen

Hi! I am Faith and my pronouns are she/her. I am currently a student at Weber State University and am a proud member of the queering the archives project. As a member of both the Thai and bisexual community, representation and the  proper record of stories, heavily matters to me. History prodigiously shapes the future, so I hope that through sharing stories, our team can truly make a difference for the queer community in Northern Utah.

Oral History Assistant

Aero Beckett

Hi I'm Aero. My pronouns are he/him, and I’m a trans guy. I’m interested in this project because I love hearing about other queer people’s life stories, as well as getting to interact with so many different members of the community. One fun fact about me is that I have a very dumb tuxedo cat who thinks plastic is tasty.

Manuscript Processor & Oral Historian

Lorrie Rands

Hi, my name is Lorrie and my pronouns are she/her. I am gay and a mother of a queer child. I work at Weber State University as an oral historian helping to document the histories and stories of individuals of Weber/Davis Counties. I initially wanted to better understand my child with this project, and now I am excited to share that understanding with the larger community. Fun fact about me is that I love to crochet stuffed animals, especially dinosaurs!

Social Media Manager

Samuel Young

I am so excited about this project and being a part of the team! I'm a gay man who uses he/they pronouns.  I've loved history since I was a kid, with a keen interest in queer history for a few years now. I was born and raised in Layton, Utah. I perform in stage productions as Samuel and in Drag as Samantha Stratford. I'm looking forward to the impact this collection of Queer Stories can have on people here in northern Utah, and I hope you join us in making it happen!

Drag Queen

Samantha Stratford

I'm just your run of the mill Shakespearean Girl Next Door type! Meaning I was born in a celtic forest back in the early 1500's and I've been pounding the cobblestone as an actress, singer, starlet, (witch, historian, cat enthusiast) since then. I’m excited for the opportunity to hear the living history of our community through this fabulous project.
